    How much they can hold also depends on where the center of mass is acting. The shelf, when loaded, is experiencing a torsion that tends to push the front of the shelf down, rotating around the bottom of the shelf at the wall contact point. Torsion multiplies the tensile stresses in the side of the structural member opposite the direction of rotation, which is also opposite the direction of the force causing the torque. Any shelf will hold a higher loading if tha load is distributed towards the wall rather than to the front lip of the shelf. I think this is intuitive for most people involved in any kind of mechanical endeavor for any length of time. Anyway, this is for those out there who like to know the why of things like I do.

    Really liking your channel! Are the lights still working without issues? And for screwing in hooks and eyebolts, I’ve always had success with putting a separate hook into a drill and using that to run the hook/eyebolt up into the wood instead of a screwdriver.

    If you’re miter folding plywood use a track saw! You don’t have to worry about the imperfections in the plywood not providing you a clean rip like you do on a table saw. A track will bow with the wood and if it’s crooked or out of square you can easily account for that too. Pushing a big awkward 8 foot sheet of plywood is physically much more work than pushing a track saw as well.

    The ONLY thing I care about in a sander is what can remove material faster. Compared to the 5 inch variable speed DeWalt for under $100, does the festool do anything more? Does it spin significantly faster or vibrate more?

    • @EverydayBuilds
      @EverydayBuilds Місяць тому

      I’m really not sure, but it does remove material very quickly 👌

    • @Technomandfw
      @Technomandfw 15 днів тому

      @sbb526 don't waste your money. There are other options (and some reviews consider them better than Festool). This comparison was skewed by a paid UA-camr. Had they done a real comparison of an equal Sander, it might be worth some value.

    I have an old building, roughly 75-80 yrs old. When there is a saturating rain and ground is saturated, water will come up through the concrete floor and then will leave the same way. Question is, can that be repaired by covering it with a coat of thin concrete or does it have to be taken out and replaced with new? I’m looking for a cost effective way to fix it. Thanks
